SUMMARY:Foot\, ankle\, knee
DESCRIPTION:The third of our one day tutorial workshops offer the chance to revisit the anatomy and conditions of the foot\, knee and ankle\, how their function can influence the whole body. \nWe will explore ways that patients can create change for themselves whilst learning to live with OA and RA\, or unexplained foot pain\, by creating strategies that could involve measuring rest and movement. We will also look at recovery from knee replacement\, with a hands on approach. \nThe aim of these groups is to foster more focused training through small groups in a friendly setting. Each day will begin with coaching skills\, to increase your confidence in enabling the people we treat to tackle the mental aspects of their progression to better movement. \nWe will then move on to practical hands-on work\, with a focus on precision; how to soften up our touch\, with the aim of moving deeper into the soft tissue structure\, to create a neurological ‘safe space’. We will focus on intention\, what this means\, and how to feel at ease with this as therapist. \nWe will round up the day with movements\, based on Polestar pre-Pilates movements\, exploring ways to enable the people we treat to do the ‘homework.’ \nWith each workshop there will be a link to YouTube where the movement part will be there for you to go over after the workshops. \nThere will also be a Zoom meeting 3 to 4 weeks later (date will be confirmed with the group) for follow up thoughts and questions on a Friday afternoon between 4 & 5pm \nTea/coffee/lunch is provided. \n
