SUMMARY:One Day Workshop: working with people who have hypermobility and accompanying symptoms (part 1)
DESCRIPTION:The second in my 2022 series of one day workshops. For this date\, we’ll be focusing on hypermobility\, delving into the syndrome and accompanying symptoms. The workshop will have a strict maximum of 8 participants. \nThis is part 1 of 2 workshops – the second will be in 2024. \nThe aim of these groups is to create more focused small-group training\, in a friendly setting. Each day will begin with coaching skills\, to increase your confidence in enabling the people we treat to tackle the mental aspects of their progression to better movement. \nWe will then move on to practical hands-on work\, with a focus on precision; how to soften up our touch\, with the aim of moving deeper into the soft tissue structure\, to create a neurological ‘safe space’. We will focus on intention\, what this means\, and how to feel at ease with this as therapist. \nWe will round up the day with movements\, based on Polestar pre-pilates movements\, exploring ways to enable the people we treat to do the ‘homework’. \nWith each workshop there will be a link to YouTube where the movement part will be there for to go over. \nThere will also be a Zoom meeting 3 to 4 weeks later (date will be confirmed with the group) for follow up thoughts and questions on a Friday afternoon between 4 & 5pm. \n
