SUMMARY:Treating people with lifelong headaches
DESCRIPTION: \nThis is the first of our one-day workshops for 2024. We will address a whole person approach to treating people who have been struggling with lifelong headaches. \nThe aim of these groups is to foster more focused training through small groups in a friendly setting. Each day will begin with coaching skills\, to increase your confidence in enabling the people we treat to tackle the mental aspects of their progression to better movement. \nFor this workshop in the coaching section we will explore how we as therapists can begin to over treat\, understanding our need to help these folks. We will discuss learning their ‘headache process’\, and what they could do differently to support themselves. \nWe will then move on to practical hands-on work\, with a focus on precision; how to soften up our touch\, with the aim of moving deeper into the soft tissue structure\, to create a neurological ‘safe space’. We will focus on intention\, what this means\, and how to feel at ease with this as therapist. \nWe will round up the day with movements\, based on Polestar pre-Pilates movements\, exploring ways to enable the people we treat to do the homework\, creating movement practices\, that fit with their life choices. \nWith each workshop there will be a link to YouTube where the movement part will be there for you to go over after the workshop. \n  \n  \n
