Revising and revisiting the psoas
May 11 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
£250.00Event Navigation
For the second of our 2024 one-day workshops will explore the connections the psoas has with the rest of the body and its fascial connections, taking a whole-body approach to recovering function and the patient’s awareness of its role within the body and movements.
The aim of these groups is to foster more focused training through small groups in a friendly setting. Each day will begin with coaching skills, to increase your confidence in enabling the people we treat to tackle the mental aspects of their progression to better movement.
We will then move on to practical hands-on work, with a focus on precision; how to soften up our touch, with the aim of moving deeper into the soft tissue structure, to create a neurological ‘safe space’. We will focus on intention, what this means, and how to feel at ease with this as therapist.
We will round up the day with movements, based on Polestar pre-Pilates movements, exploring ways to enable the people we treat to do the ‘homework.’
There will be a handout, video to access the Pilates movements explored and a follow-up via Zoom Q&A to be arranged to suit the workshop.
Tea/coffee and lunch is provided.
If you require accommodation, there is a special rate for delegates.
