The workshop is now taking place on the 13th March 2021
These are truly strange times, our patients come through our clinic doors with lower back pain, or shoulder pain, or a running injury because there has been a lot of ‘Couch to 5k’.
So, they present with a muscular skeletal pain or discomfort, which when treating you often find there is also an under lying tension within the nervous system, most often due to COVID 19 and the pressures and stress caused to individuals. This often leaves people with an underlying low constant stress pressure, putting the autonomic nervous system into a constant low rumble that most people would describe as headaches, jaw pain along with their shoulder injury.
With the problems we’re facing becoming increasingly more complex, I thought I would run a 4 hour online zoom workshop on reevaluating assessment procedure, treatment, and outcomes.
Key Objectives
- Accepting the protocol that is familiar to us, enquiring what this tells us with our science in place. How do we then notice if there is underlying trauma, sympathetic v parasympathetic imbalance?
- How to assess a fascial tightness and then include this into treatment protocol
- Explore communication skills, that lead to greater information and understanding to whole of the patient’s history.
- How create goals and outcomes for patients that are both achievable physically and mentally, whist keeping within the scope of our practice.
This workshop is open to physiotherapists, massage therapists, pilates teachers, movement instructors, osteopaths. Interested, but not sure it’s right for you? Just send me an email or call to find out more.
